BELLEFONTE, Pa. – Republican candidate for governor Sen. Jake Corman today thanked the Fraternal Order of Police, Pennsylvania State Lodge (PA FOP) for its recommendation of his candidacy in the upcoming May 17 primary election. The PA FOP represents over 40,000 active and retired law enforcement professionals.

“There is no higher honor than receiving the support of Pennsylvania’s law enforcement community,” Corman said. “I want to thank President Les Neri and the State FOP for believing in our campaign and our plan to support law enforcement when I’m elected governor.”

On the PA FOP’s republican primary election selection of Jake Corman for governor, Neri said, “Jake has a longstanding record of supporting public safety, the law enforcement officers sworn to uphold the law and the families of those officers. Our organization is proud to recommend Jake Corman for governor in the upcoming republican primary election and would encourage republican voters to support him on May 17.”

Corman has long been an advocate and staunch supporter of Pennsylvania law enforcement. He also has called for the impeachment of Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner. The city is on pace to break last year’s record for murders and has suffered a staggering 420 carjackings so far this year.

“Let me be clear, a Corman administration will be allies for law enforcement,” Corman said. We’re seeing crime plaguing communities across Pennsylvania. Some of our cities are among the worst in the nation for violence. My administration will invest in putting police on the streets and make sure they have the training and tools they need to keep our communities safe. And make no mistake, we’ll stand with law enforcement against those who demonize our bravest public servants.”
